If the scale or chord that you want to have mapped does not
exist in the collection of pre-defined scales and chords, you
can submit your own intervals to the user-defined category
by following these steps.
- If you haven't already done so, register with GAFF on the
register page.
- Back on the submit-intervals,
select the intervals that you want included in your scale or
chord by clicking on the appropriate checkboxes.
- For each interval that you selected choose one of the available
names for the interval. The name that you choose does not affect
the mapping of the fretboard figure, but the interval key (which
is used to identify the various intervals) will use the interval
name. For example, if you were defining the major scale the
second interval would be known as "2" (the second). However, if you
were defining an Add9 chord, you would name the same interval "9"
(the ninth).
- Provide a title-string description. This string will be used as
a title on the fretboard figures. By convention, this string should
end with "Scale" if the intervals represent a scale or "Chord" if
the intervals represent a chord.
The submit intervals page is initialized to values that would define
the major scale. Please change these...
